ELECTRONIC VOICE PHENOMENA
(E.V.P.)
We will cover the subject more in depth in another area of this website as this page is more about the presentation of examples caught at the Gaol. It should be noted that E.V.P. is still very much a controversial form of 'evidence'. We are only presenting E.V.P. samples here that are obviously not noise artefacts but indeed appear to be voices. The other controversy is that they are hard to understand until you are told what to hear. This is indeed true. We will cover in the other area of this website the theories behind this, but for now we will just present what we have and let you make up your own minds.
We are going to present the audio twice. In the first section, we will not tell you what it is saying, so you can listen without prejudice. You can then click on 'answers' to go to the next page to find them presented once again with our own interpretations. Remember.... this is just our own views.
APOLOGIES: For the fact that when you came into the page they all played at once. Unfortunately with this particular software they do not make allowance for playing one at a time but they automatically start on entry. Once this happens though you can then go back and play them individually.
Gaol Voice 1
The voice that you are listening to is the first one you hear on this recording. The following voice is Jeff's and then Megans. It was caught on a Hi8 Video tape. It was also captured at the top of the old metal staircase in the New Building, close to the Guards Office's. Also notice how Jeff's and Megans voices echo as this is a large open 2 storey building. The first voice does not have this echo. We do use brand new tapes for each investigation to avoid leaching from past recordings.
Gaol Voice 2
This example was caught in one of the Solitary Confinement Cells in the New Building. Amy and another girl who was a guest were sitting in there doing an EVP experiment. It had started to chill down and you can hear Amy complain about the sudden cold. It is part way through when Amy is talking that you possibly hear another voice over the top of her. It should be noted that the only other person in the area was me and I was supervising further up the block. There were no males present in that building.
Goal Voice 3
This example is what appears to be a voice captured yet again in the New Building. Alison is explaining something to Spil's when another voice seems to interject.
